Having our own lake is a luxury that makes Tamakwa's waterfront unique. The waters of South Tea Lake are inviting for anyone to swim, canoe, sail, windsurf, and kayak. In the middle is Treasure Island, a Tamakwa landmark known for its beauty and as the symbol of Tamakwa's distance swim tradition.

Omer Stringer not only co-founded Tamakwa back in 1936, but he also left his trademark on every Tamakwan today. Celebrated during his lifetime as Canada's most gifted canoeist, he instilled in us a deep love and respect for North America's oldest form of transportation -- the canoe. Omer's canoeing tradition lives on as the most basic of Tamakwa skills.

A Voyageur “War” Canoe. It's a 36-foot long, 22-passenger replica of the vessel made famous by explorers and fur traders on the Great Lakes. At camp it's great for cabin outings and team-oriented regattas.
